2nd Pull Out Card (Reindeer)

I had so much fun making the Santa and it turned out so stinkin cute that I decided to try it again with a different character. This time I used the reindeer head from Doodlecharms with the same process, although this one was a little more difficult. I double pop dotted the nose (although you can never tell in my pictures...) and he has googley eyes! I'm happy with it, but I still like my Santa better. My main problem is I have a very limited selection of paper, I ran out of black, so for the back I had to use dark gray...

Can't wait to do this again, it's quick for the most part (compared to how much time it is taking me with my work in progresses...)and they turn out so darn cute!

My first "pull out/flower pot" card (Santa)

So just yesterday I saw these type cards and thought they were just brilliant, so I decided to give it a try. I'm new to cricut and this is actually my first real card (that's finished, I have several other works in progress...)

The Santa is from Doodlecharms. I did not use Design Studio or a gypsy. I just cut out two shadows (6 inches). Then the varying pieces of santas face in the corresponding colors. Then I glued the "flesh" santa onto one of the blackouts. Then cut off the hat area and applied all the extra pieces to finish him off. I then glued the edges only of the two shadow pieces. Then I fit a small piece of black cardstock in the "pocket" then sandwiched it between the two hat pieces and glued them together. Then cut a small white piece of card stock with fancy scissors and viola! Oh and I pop doted the mustache and then on top of those pop dots I pop dotted the nose. I can't wait to do this again, but I think I'll wait until I get DS because I hate having to cut all the pieces just for one piece in one color... And next time I'm going to emboss the beard and mustache with D'vine swirls...

The cute little stamp on the inside came free when I ordered the face stamps from peachykeen and it is just too stinkin adorable!!

Stenciled Tee's I did for Christmas Last Year...

These were my first attempts at doing stenciled tees. I printed out the images the taped them behind freezer paper, drew them on the freezer paper, then cut them out and ironed them on shirts and used acrylic paint mixed with a fabric medium and sponged them on.

My first piece of Sculpture

I started Sculpture 1 my junior year of high school. I will never forget the day. I walked in the room and the teacher said "Who are you? I don't know you..."
~I replied back with my name and said this is my first pottery class.
~He then said "You've never taken a pottery class before?"
~"Nope"
~"Well I will let you know right now, you will probably not get an A in this class unless you have already taken pottery, this is essentially pottery five..."
~"I'm a fast learner..."
~"Okay..."

It's funny looking back on it especially since after the first project he thought I was a genius. kids he had for years were having a hard time with the project and I just went at it full force. The project was to create something using extruded pieces. I had no idea what extruded even meant! But I watched people and finally figured out that you just pick a plate insert it into the extruder, then put some clay in there and pull the lever and out comes your "extruded pieces". I decided to just try hollow squares at first and this is what I came up with.

It got into a show along with another one of my pieces I made later in the year (which I will post when I find a picture)

Just saying Hi!

I'm new to this whole blogging thing and I don't expect much to come in my first few months of blogging but I'll give it a try. Basically I think I will use this blog as a way to share my crafty creations and sometimes just random thoughts or ideas I have...
